Enter the total area of the site.
Select the type of residence.
Where the development contains different types of dwellings, submit separate assessments for each individual type. For example, if the proposal includes an apartment building, and a row of townhouses, submit two applications: one for the townhouse development, and another for the townhouses. From that point on, you should treat each building as a stand-alone development, and submit individual assessments according to some defined boundary between the two buildings.
Detached house: single house without party walls to adjoining properties. (i.e., stand alone house)
Townhouse: any number of dwellings that share party walls (including Villa).
Apartment: a building containing 2 or more dwellings (sole-occupancy units).
Party wall: a wall that it shared by 2 or more dwellings.
Enter the total number of bedrooms for the development. Remember, it must be the total number of bedrooms for the entire development. For example, an apartment building with 11 apartments with 1 bedroom each and 11 apartments with 2 bedrooms each should be entered as having 33 bedrooms (11 x 1 + 11 x 2).
Note: The scores calculated by STEPS are based on the number of residents living in the development, which is in turn based on the number of bedrooms.
Enter the total number of apartments for the development. This field will only be activated where "Apartments" is selected as the type of residence.
